The exams are once again approaching fast! Of course you need a nice place to study. You might think about going to the crowded library, but we have a better option!

From Monday March 30th until Friday evening April 17th you will be able to study in MF3.101, MF3.102 and MF3.103! 

Of course, this is awesome because:

Some of the rooms will be designated silence rooms and some will be for collaboration.

Heb jij ook altijd al willen drinken op de borrel en een goed geweten kunnen hebben? Dan presenteert de BAC de perfecte borrel voor jou, de goede doelen borrel.

We zullen drinken om aan twee goeden doelen te doneren. Welke twee goede doelen dit zijn, kan jij helpen bepalen. Dit kan je doen door de form hieronder in te vullen.

Er zullen meerdere manieren zijn om te doneren aan het goede doel. Zo zullen er een paar gratis fusten zijn, waarbij je alsnog je biertjes kan afkopen als donatie.

Daarnaast zullen we een loting en een veiling houden met gedoneerde spullen van GEWIS leden en de BAC. Daarnaast kan je zelf ook nog leuke spullen doneren, deze kan je ook opgeven in de forms.

Als laatste kan je jezelf opgeven voor bepaalde acties die jij zal uitvoeren bij een bepaald gedoneerd bedrag. Denk hieraan, bij een totaal van 5 euro vouw ik 1 bak. Bij een totaal van 10 euro twee bakken, etc. Ook dit kan je aangeven in de forms.

We hopen dat jullie er al net zoveel zin in hebben als wij, en hopelijk kunnen we veel geld ophalen doormiddel van drinken.

Heb jij altijd al álle bierspelletjes willen leren van de echte kenners? Altijd al willen ervaren hoe het is om zonder moeite een vers drankje in je handen gedrukt te krijgen zodra je glas leeg is? Dan is de oud-BAC borrel dé gelegenheid waar je bij moet zijn.

Eens per jaar verruilen de oud-leden van de BAC hun plek aan de andere kant van de bar om zelf weer te shinen achter de tap. Dit is hét moment waarop zij hun jarenlange ervaring en doorgewinterde borrelkennis met trots delen met de nieuwe generatie. Ze laten zien hoe het écht moet, en vooral: hoe het er 'vreuger' aan toe ging.

Of je nu komt voor de nostalgie, de gezelligheid of simpelweg om je drinktechnieken naar een hoger niveau te tillen—de oud-BAC borrel biedt voor ieder wat wils. Verwacht een avond vol gelach, verhalen uit de oude doos, spontane spelletjes en natuurlijk: nooit een leeg glas.

Zorg dus dat je erbij bent op 17 april, want dit wil je écht niet missen. Tot dan!

Just as a fine Bordeaux gracefully yields its deepest tasting notes as time passes, so too grow the stories and legends surrounding the Monseigneurs of our fraternity. Our foundations are deeply rooted within these legends, forming the cornerstone of our traditions. It is therefore unsurprising that we cherish our Monseigneurs.

As is customary, "In Vino Veritas" invites you to our month'like drinks. As always, we, the Fraternity of Study Association GEWIS, welcome you to an evening filled with intellectual conversations and robust discourse, naturally fuelled by the steady pour of wine. While we always honour our old members during these drinks, this month we are dedicating the evening specifically to one of our most esteemed: Mgr. Timmerman.

A man of unrivalled standards and impeccable taste, he was famously devoted to the robust elegance of the 2003 Château Roudier. To honour his enduring legacy and his exceptional palate, we shall raise a glass, preferably filled with a vintage that rivals his favorite, to the art of aging, both of magnificent wine and of unforgettable fraternity.

We invite you to join us in this tribute on 20th of April at 17h. A curated drinks menu, delectable snacks, and, unequivocally, ample wine will be provided.

Get ready for the new activity of ATHENA and Défi: ATHfiball!

Everyone knows the famous game flunkyball, but to make it a bit more exciting, we made our own versions. Join this tournament of flunkyball, where each game has another twist. 🧶🥏👁️🏈

Sign up with a team of 3 - 5 persons and become the best flunkyball players of GEWIS! If you do not have a team, don't worry, just sign up and we will arrange a team for you!🏆When you sign up, you will play multiple rounds, after which there will be a finale to decide which team is the best! 🥇

However, flunkyball with a simple beer is a bit boring, which is why you can choose what you want to compete with! You can choose out of 3 options: fresh beers🍻, delicious cocktails 🍸or fruity mocktails🍹!

This year, after staying in the Netherlands last year, ATHENA would like to leave the country once again, so we are organizing a city trip to Germany, to the historical town of Aachen 🇩🇪! There are many sights to see, like the Aachen Cathedral ⛪️ or the Elisenbrunnen fountain ⛲️ and we will explore it all during our trip.

The weekend will take place from the 24th of April to the 26th. The price includes our accommodation, breakfast for both mornings 🥐, and a dinner on Saturday. We will also do a scavenger hunt 🔍 around the city on Saturday to explore the sights, and some mini golf 🏌️ on Sunday to wind down before heading back home. 

If you would like to explore a new city with friends and take a break from studying for a bit, sign up! The list opens on the 27th of February at 12.30 but sign up fast because there are only 24 spots available. 

-    If there are more than 24 subscriptions in the first hour, there will be a draw amongst those who subscribed before this deadline. After this it will be first come first serve. -    If the subscription is not full before this, the participants will be based on a first come first serve basis.

Dear students,

On Wednesday the 29th of April, C4 is organizing a great career event: The C4 Company Dinner! For only 17,50 euros you will get a full dinner with drinks as well as a borrel afterward in restaurant De Vooruitgang and you will be able to talk to four companies about anything you want.

At the dinner, four companies will attend, of which you can choose three to talk with. With all of them, you will enjoy three nice courses and two drinks to discover the career possibilities they have in an informal conversation. You can indicate your main course and dessert preferences for the dinner when you subscribe. For the main course the options are; Steak, Salmon Fillet, or Indian Curry (Vegan). For the dessert the options are; Lemon Lover or Cheesecake with Ice Cream. The starter will be Focaccia with dips. At the end of the dinner (after 21:00), there will also be a social drink where you can talk with all of the companies some more, or talk some more with your favorite company.

Are you a Master's student? Then you are lucky! If there are more than 50 people subscribed to this activity, we will put Master students first. Make sure to let us know your field of interest and which companies you would like to have dinner with.

Ahoy there maties! 

GEZWEM will be having a sailing weekend yet again, this year on the weekend of the 1st of May! We will be charting the wild northern waters of Sneekermeer, in what is known as Dutch-Scandinavia or Fryslân.

The weekend will be filled with amazing adventures, sailing the seas to new lands, finding treasure in authentic brown pubs, and sharing stories, laughter, and rum between our tents.

For a fair price, we will organize a ship with a crew, quarters (bring your own tent), sustenance, and drink for you to stay and enjoy the riches of the GEZWEM sailing weekend (note that transport is not included in the price).

So join us in this wonderful weekend and endanger the waters of Fryslân during the day, and the brownest of pubs at night. No sailing experience required!!

Pas op voor die giek!!!

The Batavierenrace is back!

The next edition of the world's largest relay race is scheduled to take place over the weekend between May 9th and 11th, 2026. We will start in the centre of Nijmegen and run 175km, split up into 25 parts, to the campus of the University of Twente in Enschede. The race begins on Friday evening and will finish in the afternoon on Saturday, meaning we will run through the night. 

Throughout the weekend, we’ll be camping on the University of Twente campus alongside hundreds of students from across the Netherlands (bring your own tent). The race is divided into three “shifts”: night, morning, and afternoon. The night shift will travel to Nijmegen for the start, while the morning and afternoon shifts will head to Enschede and be transported by bus to their respective starting points.

And while the race itself is unforgettable, that’s not all; this weekend also hosts the biggest student party in Europe, an experience you definitely won’t want to miss.

It will be possible for participants to buy a sports shirt for +/- €15, but this is optional.  

We are still looking for a sponsor, so the price might still decrease.

While the world does not get much more beautiful than Eindhoven, sometimes you get the urge to go out there and discover the world. Shortly after that, you often realise that travelling is expensive and cancel your plans. But what if I were to tell you that we have found a solution for this exact problem? Go hitchhiking with a buddy; this is a cheap way to travel and a great way to meet interesting people.

But what if I told you that we have found a way to make hitchhiking even more fun? By turning it into a competition, you can win the right to brag to your friends about this. You can even do some challenges along the way to improve your final time.

On the first day, you and your buddy will travel to the capital city of Luxembourg, which is, coincidentally, also called Luxembourg. After getting some well-deserved sleep there, on the next day, you will make your way to one of the biggest cities in Belgium, Antwerp. We also have a fun activity planned for Friday evening in Antwerp. There will, of course, be plenty of time to discover the city before we make our way back to Eindhoven on Saturday evening.

For the low, low price of € 45, or a bit more if you have already graduated, you will receive the following: An overnight stay in both cities, a trip back to Eindhoven, and everything you need to hitchhike.

To ensure that everyone has the required skills to make it to the destinations, we will organise an information session before the weekend to provide all participants with some general information and helpful tips.

If there are more than 15 duos within 24 hours, a draw will be held. After this, the subscription will be "first-come, first-served". Do make sure to subscribe, since there will be a waiting list!

Lustrum kampvuur kookactiviteit geeft je de perfectie balans van culinaire hoogstandjes en primitief koken die leidt tot een heerlijke zelfgemaakte 5 gangen maaltijd.

Ook zullen er via Sudosos lekker drankjes beschikbaar zijn. De activiteit begint om 16:00 omdat voor dat je op een kampvuur kunt koken, dit kampvuur natuurlijk aangemaakt moet worden. Lukt 16:00 nou niet maar kun je er wel om 17:00 zijn? Geef dat dan aan in de aanmelding. We hebben een capaciteit van 25 deelnemers op first come first serve basis. Voor allergieën zullen we in overleg kijken wat we kunnen doen, kruisbesmetting is iets waar we echter geen rekening mee kunnen houden.

De wereld staat in de fik, boodschappen zijn duurder dan je studiepunten en het Nederlandse weer heeft ook geen idee meer welk seizoen het is.

Daarom doen wij het gewoon zelf: één avond, vier seizoenen. En waarschijnlijk ook vier stadia van dronkenschap.

Want Dispuut B.O.O.M. bestaat 20 jaar en dat laten we natuurlijk niet stilletjes voorbijgaan. De laatste week van mei staat volledig in het teken van het 4e Lustrum, met als knallende afsluiter op vrijdag 29 mei: het Lustrum Gala.

Een gala? Binnen? Nee natuurlijk niet! Trek je laarzen maar uit de kast want speciaal voor alle buitenliefhebbers hebben we een prachtige buitenlocatie weten te regelen.  

Heb je geen laarzen? Schrijf je dan in op de interesselijst voor LIMITED EDITION B.O.O.M.-proof laarzen. Over de exacte prijs nemen we later nog contact met je op.

Het thema is 4 seizoenen, dus verwacht frisse outfits, zweten op de dansvloer, drankjes (of jezelf) die hard vallen en eindigen in een soort winterslaap.

Wil je liever samen in plaats van alleen genieten van een feestelijk bandje, fanstische DJ's en veel drank? In GEWIS kun je groen briefpapier vinden om je favoriete persoon mee te vragen. 

Iedereen is welkom, ook niet GEWIS-leden. Zij kunnen zich zelf inschrijven maar je kan ook aangeven dat jij voor diegene betaald, dan is dat niet nodig.

Twijfel dan niet langer en maak jezelf gereed voor B.O.O.M. Actief Weekend 2026!

Dit jaar, zullen we de Duitse Eifel bezoeken. Hier hebben wij wat avontuurlijke activiteiten voor jullie georganiseerd, op zowel de zaterdag als de zondag. We gaan nog niets verklappen, maar voorbeelden van vorige jaren zijn klimmen, mountainbiken en kanoën.    Naast dit is er nog veel meer om van te genieten gedurende het weekend, je kunt bijvoorbeeld gaan “streamen” in de rivier (vraag B.O.O.M. leden om meer info) en in de avond zal er een kampvuur zijn om je warm te houden, en omdat we op een camping zitten zullen we in tenten slapen.

Je hoeft niet je eigen eten en drinken mee te nemen, omdat dit allemaal inclusief is gedurende het weekend! Op vrijdag zul je de kans krijgen om Sako zijn beroemde pasta salade te proeven, en op zaterdag zullen we van een heerlijke BBQ genieten, en we zullen natuurlijk genoeg bier en fris regelen (en koffie voor de zware ochtenden).

Het weekend zal plaatsvinden van 5 tot 7 juni 2026, als je wilt meegaan schrijf je dan hieronder in.   Omdat we genoeg autos nodig hebben om iedereen naar Duitsland te rijden, krijgen mensen met auto voorrang indien nodig. Dit jaar wordt alleen de benzine vergoed, dus zorg ervoor dat je met een voole tank begint en eindigt! Als je een auto beschikbaar hebt, geef dat dan aan en zet erbij hoeveel plaatsen (inclusief jezelf) je hebt in de auto. We willen ook graag weten of je een tent hebt. We gaan geen groepjes maken maar het kan helpen om anderen een slaapplek te laten vinden :)  

We hebben plek om 40 studenten mee te nemen op ons toffe weekend, dus schrijf je zo snel mogelijk in, first come first serve! Als er veel interesse is, kunnen we misschien opschalen, maar we kunnen nog niets beloven!
