Keuken with I.V.V Volume VI

Dear members of GEWIS,

Many of you are familiar with the adage: "Hard times create strong men, strong men create good times, good times create weak men, and weak men create hard times." This can be used not only to describe the problems of society, but also the relationship Hèt Dispuut has with organizing "Keuken met I.V.V". This by now recurring staple in the activities repertoire is known among the Gentlemen of Hèt Dispuut as an activity that requires a disproportionate amount of time and effort.

The manpower that helps with the activity can be seen as the "strong men". The aftermath, an ecstasy after all the effort, can be seen as the "good times". And then, after some time has passed, when the memory of grocery stress and technical panic slowly fades, the common folk begin to long once more for a new edition of Keuken met I.V.V. There we find the "weak men".

Subsequently, when one of the Gentlemen, after enough meetings and moments of collective overconfidence, utters the dangerous words: "Shall we organize another edition of Keuken met I.V.V?", we have officially arrived at the "hard times".

Fortunately, we will guide you all professionally through these difficult times. After all, the only thing you have to do is cook along with us. This edition will focus, for many an amateur chef, on some more obscure cooking techniques. Specifically, this will be the lobster edition, in which we show that you do not need to visit a three-star lobster bar to enjoy this magnificent product. Naturally, we are aware that the target audience consists of students, so we will try to get the absolute most out of the meat. This means that the courses you will prepare will all relate to the preparation of our favorite ten-legged crustaceans of the family Nephropidae.

This gauntlet, which for years has formed the very foundation of Gordon Ramsay’s inspiration, will take place on Twitch (twitch.tv/hetdispuut) and will start on Sunday March 15 at approximately 5:30 PM. The registration list will open on Friday February 6 and will close on Sunday March 8. Initially, we have budgeted for four groups, meaning it will be first come, first serve based on the registration list. However, if there is once again overwhelming enthusiasm, we will see whether the numbers can be increased, about which you will be informed in due time.

We will ensure that most ingredients can be picked up in the GEWIS room. The remaining ingredients, which will be listed in the recipe that will be published online soon, must be purchased by yourselves for a negligible amount. Please register per group, and only with the person who will pick up the food. The dinner is intended for approximately four to five people. Given the decidedly non-vegetarian nature of a lobster cooking workshop livestream, we will not prepare vegetarian alternatives live, but we will mention possible alternative ideas in the recipe booklet.
