Due to the winter weather you have been stuck inside your home. You are feeling very lonely, and you need to touch some grass. To make you feel better, we have the solution:
Go hiking together! This year we will be going to Maarheeze!

After the hike on Saturday we will warm up and enjoy a nice Dutch meal which are followed by a chill Saturday evening activity. On Sunday we will enjoy breakfast, and have yet another exiting activity before heading home together.

So pack your bags and lets go hiking!

Just like last year we offer two options, you can hike with or without carrying your bags. If you decide to hike with your bag you get a 5 euro discount (who doesn’t like discounts?!). If too many people decide to hike without bags, we will hold a draw among the people that are able to hike with it.

We will go by train, and we will gather at Eindhoven Central.

Initially there will be 25 spots available, of which 8 spots can leave their luggage in the car. These numbers might be increased if interest is shown. If these spots are filled up before 25 January, 2026 at 12:00 PM, a draw will happen. Otherwise it is first come first serve. At the draw, priority will be given to those who can bring their luggage on the hike.

So, you’ve found yourself in your house shying away from the stormy, cold weather outside, exaggerating your own anguish and thus amplifying it. The only thing you can do about it now, is to find some friends so you don’t have to suffer together. Sadly your friends are far away and you’ll have to walk all by yourself to get to them. What to do now?

Luckily we have the solution for you: walk together! You won’t be lonely this winter, as you’ll be going on the best weekend of the year, the GEDWAAL weekend! We will do a nice hike together through the beautiful landscapes of Beek.

After this nice refreshing jaunt, you’ll be able to take some time to reheat your innards for a while, after which you’ll be busy competing in a fabulous Saturday-night activity. Taking a well-deserved rest will charge us right back up for a spectacular activity on Sunday, which will lead us to the end of the weekend.

There is an option to bring your luggage with you while hiking, which will grant you a huge discount of €5!!!!! If there are too many people who want to put their luggage in the car, we will do a draw amongst the ones who are also able to hike with it.

That means it is almost cheaper to join us than to stay at home. Plus it is a healthy way to lose all Calories you will inevitably drink during Carnaval.

We will leave Saturday morning from Eindhoven Central Station from where we take the train to Dieren. We have prepared a beautiful hike through the Veluwe and we will sleep together in a Scouting building. On Sunday we will travel back to Eindhoven and we will be refreshed and ready for a new quartile.

GEDWAAL is back with a new edition of their walking weekend! At the end of the exam week, we will make a beautiful walk in the area of Sint Anthonis, where we will be staying for the night in a shared accommodation. For only €15, you will get a full weekend of fun, which includes transport, food and drinks and a sleeping space. Saturday night, we will have a fun activity, but we will not yet spoil what it is to keep the surprise! Do make sure to wear some active clothing for it!

Voelt het net alsof de muren op je af komen? Ben je toe aan frisse lucht? Wil je de parken van Eindhoven zien?

Dan heeft GEDWAAL de perfecte activiteit voor jou! In plaats van ons gebruikelijke winter wandel weekend hebben we volgende week zaterdag, 12 juni, een wandeltocht uitgezet door de prachtige parken van Eindhoven.

Om de hike uit te lopen moet je onderweg verschillende puzzels oplossen en tochtechnieken uitvoeren om de juiste routes te vinden. Je zal rondlopen in groepjes van 4 man, die wij zullen maken. Maar, als je wilt kan je je inschrijven met een vriend of vriendin en dan zullen wij er voor zorgen dat je samen in een groepje komt.

Om je te helpen met het overleven van eventueel verschillende extreme weersomstandigheden en de onvermijdelijke honger van het wandelen te overkomen hebben we voor ieder groepje een survivalpakket samengesteld.

Dit jaar zal het GEDWAAL (winter-)wandelweekend weer plaatsvinden op 28 en 29 maart. We vertrekken zaterdag de 28e naar de Maasduinen, waar we ongeveer 25 kilometer gaan wandelen. Onderweg zal er een lunch klaar staan. Aan het eind van de middag komen we aan bij een blokhut waar we lekker winters zullen gaan eten. ’s Avonds zullen we ons onder het genot van een drankje vermaken met spelletjes. Op zondag gaan we naar de Hertog Jan brouwerij en krijgen we daar een rondleiding. Daarna reizen we weer terug naar Eindhoven.

Dit weekend kost 25 euro. Er is ook een optie om niet mee te gaan naar de brouwerij, in dat geval hoef je maar 15 euro te betalen.
