Over the last 57 years, we have been creating the Supremum for you with much love and dedication. Every edition has a lot of time and care put into it, and we are proud every time we are able to deliver the next one. Knowing that you, the readers, also continue to enjoy receiving and reading our beloved magazine is truly special, and a great motivator for us.
Last year, we changed how we distribute the Supremum, to reduce some of the costs associated with printing and delivery of this magazine. Rather than an opt-out list, where all active members receive the Supremum unless they opt out, we now use an opt-in list. This means that if you want to receive the Supremum, even as an active member, you HAVE to subscribe to this opt-in list. If you don't, you will not receive a Supremum!
As always, there are no costs for you as a member; both printing and delivery are entirely free!

We (the Supremum committee) hope you are enjoying reading this edition of Supremum; and all previous ones <3. As always, a lot of work went into creating it for you. Creating the Supremum is something we gladly do with love and we are always very proud of every edition. It is truly special to know that something we worked hard on is received (and hopefully read) by so many GEWIS members. We thank you for this.
In the last year we have been looking into ways to cut some costs for GEWIS. Therefore, we have decided to make an opt-in list. If you would like to keep receiving the Supremum on your doorstep every time a new comes out, please make sure to subscribe to this activity. This also counts for active GEWIS members! If you do not subscribe to the list, you will not receive a Supremum!
So if you enjoy reading the Supremum and would like to have the next editions delivered to your doorstep, make sure to subscribe to the opt-in list on the GEWIS website activity page, or go to gew.is/supremum.
Note for graduates: if you indicated this year you want a Supremum renewal, you don't have to subscribe for the opt-in list.

A beautifully written description can only mean one thing: this must be a Supremum activity! On the 8th of December, there will be a Supremum social drink to celebrate our 11th lustrum. Here you can buy your tear-off calendar containing the best infima of the past 55 years, puzzles and more. These will cost 7,50 and can be bought in the GEWIS room.
Of course, no social drink is complete without a... well, drink! During the social drink, the lights in the room will change between red, green and blue. When the room is a certain colour, you can buy a shot in this colour for 70 cents. Wolfpack will also be there as they sponsored the tear-off calendar and will be handing out a free keg!

Simplicity does not always suffice anymore, both in print and in online documents. Have you always dreamt of making your own Supremum? Or maybe giving your boring CV a fancy boost? If the answer is yes, the InDesign Beginner’s training organized by Supremum and TRAIN is for you!
The goal of this training is to learn the basics of InDesign such that after this training you possess the knowledge to customize your own documents. During this training you will learn how to set up a document in InDesign, how to use the different tools that InDesign has to offer, how to make use of paragraph and character styles and of course how to export your document for actual printing.
This will be brought to you through a very hands-on session where the instructor gives demonstrations which you will then recreate yourself!
The training will be given by Martijn van Weeghel from Easy-123 and will be fully in English.
Pay attention, there are only 40 spots available! There will be a waiting list so even if the training is full, don’t hesitate to subscribe.
In case you withdraw after the deadline or do not show up for the training an amount of 20 euros will be charged.

The 2nd Supremum edition of this year has recently been published, therefore we are now looking for articles for our 3rd edition. This edition will be themed “mystery†. This will give us the perfect opportunity to finish our 50th year and take a look at the mysterious feature.
If you are willing to write an article for this edition, you can subscribe here before 1/5/2018. Once you subscribed, you will receive our (renewed) writing manual so you can start writing. After this you should make sure to send in your article before 13/5/2018.

The Supremum Committee
Dear everyone,
The Supremum committee is looking for GEWIS-members (or committees) who feel like writing an article for upcoming edition (50.1). The theme of next edition will be "50 shades of Supremum". In this edition we will take a look at the changes the Supremum has made over the past 50 years. You can choose to write something related to the theme (recommended), or write an article about another, interesting theme. You can either write an one page article (around 500 words with a maximum of 550) or a two page article (around 1250 words, with a maximum of 1300). If you are really ambitious, you can write an even bigger article (2+ pages). Just contact one member of the Supremum committee for more information on bigger articles.
Another option you can make, is whether you want a regular or a features article. The send-in deadline for features articles (21/01/2018) is two weeks earlier than the deadline for the regular articles (04/02/2018). However, a featured article will get a more detailed design as our design team has more time to work on those articles.
