Het is zover, het grote afscheidsfeest van GELIMBO komt eraan. Op maandag 19 december zullen wij ons laatste feest op Stratumseind geven als actief dispuut bij GEWIS. Het thema is A Nightmare Before Christmas, want een grotere nachtmerrie dan dit bestaat er toch niet in de week van Kerstmis! Kom verkleed als nooit tevoren, dat zullen wij ook doen. Denk aan scary christmas: enge kerstman, verloren elfjes, enz…
Het vindt plaats bij café Peppers op Stratumseind vanaf 20.11 uur. Er zijn gratis welkomstshotjes, bier en fris voor maar 2 euro en wijn voor 2,50. Schrijf je in op deze inschrijflijst en claim je kaartje! Je kan dan 1 euro betalen op een van de komende borrels of aan de deur.
We zien jullie heel graag op maandag 19 december en vergeet niet een berichtje achter te laten bij de condoleancestand!

Op dinsdag 29 november, ofwel de verjaardag van GELIMBO, vindt onze jaarlijkse Dieszitting weer plaats. Ditmaal wel in een iets ander jasje. GELIMBO presenteert: de Dieszitting Experience! Op onze 16de verjaardag zullen wij jullie meenemen in de mysteries rondom een Dieszitting. Doe mee met het theater met live acteurs en ontdek wie de beruchte moordenaar is in het Murder Mystery spel!
Zoals jullie van ons gewend zijn, wordt het een geweldige avond vol theater, muziek en dans, maar nu dan ook de zoektocht naar de moordenaar. Er is een detective die ons de opdracht geeft om vier live acteurs te ondervragen, puzzels op te lossen en uiteindelijk de moord op te lossen. Natuurlijk sluiten we de avond af onder het genot van drankjes bij GEWIS! Het vindt plaats in MetaForum 11/12 vanaf 18.30 uur. Schrijf je in voor deze escaperoom met live acteurs en word deel van de Dieszitting Experience met jouw onderzoeksteam van 4 á 5 personen. Er zijn 100 plekken beschikbaar, dus wees er gauw bij! Als de inschrijflijst vol zit wanneer deze sluit, hanteren wij het first come first serve systeem.

Beste strandfeestvierders, Zon, zee en zuipen. Wie heeft daar zin in? Jij! Op maandag 11 juli 2022 vindt het zonnige GELIMBO strandfeest plaats! Heb jij ook zoveel zin om languit op het strand te liggen en van de zon, de zee en een drankje te genieten? Nou, wij ook! Het zal plaatsvinden bij Beachclub Sunrise: dé hotspot van het Zuiden, bij Aquabest. Neem een kijkje bij deze prachtige locatie: https://beachclubsunrise.nl. In de middag is er alle ruimte en tijd om te chillen op het strand en 's avonds vanaf 20 uur zullen er drie verschillende foodcorners klaar staan voor het compleet geregelde avondeten, inclusief dessert én inclusief late night snack voor als de honger weer opspeelt. Er is een drankarrangement geregeld met wijn, bier, fris en een aantal sterke dranken van 20 tot 01 uur. Wat wil je nog meer? **Let op: er zijn twee inschrijflijsten in aparte tabs. De eerste inschrijflijst is voor de lustrum beachparty die 's avonds van 20.00 tot 01.00 uur wordt gehouden. Een ticket kost 40 euro (70 euro als je een afgestudeerd lid bent). Je ticket is inclusief toegang tot het feest, het eet- en drankarrangement. De tweede inschrijflijst is om overdag naar het strand te gaan. We gaan om 12 uur 's middags naar Aquabest Beach. Het is altijd mogelijk om later aan te sluiten. De toegang tot het strand is 5 euro en moet door jou betaald worden ter plekke. Let op: je moet zelf voor eten en drinken zorgen voor op het strand. Het is weer zover. De GELIMBO pubquiz is weer terug van weggeweest! Denk jij alles te weten, of support je graag je teamgenoten van wie jij denkt dat ze alles weten? Het kan allemaal bij de GELIMBO pubquiz! En ja, dit jaar is het weer terecht een PUBquiz. Het vindt plaats op woensdag 15 juni vanaf 19.11 uur in het Hubble Community Café. Schrijf je in met een team van 4 tot 6 personen en win de beste prijzen!
Voorafgaand aan de pubquiz is het mogelijk bij Hubble een hapje te eten. Je kan kiezen tussen de Daily Dinner Dish Meat of Vega. Dit is op eigen kosten, maar Hubble vindt het fijn een inschatting te hebben van hoeveel mensen komen eten. Schrijf je dus hier in en geef je teamnaam en voorkeur voor eten aan in de twee inschrijflijsten!

GELIMBO viert haar 15de verjaardag, welkom bij ons lustrum! Dit jaar vindt de traditionele Dieszitting plaats op vrijdag 18 maart 2022. Het wordt een geweldige avond vol muziek, dans, theater, drankjes en nog veel meer genieten! Speciaal voor jullie wordt na het geweldige carnavalsseizoen nog eens onze geweldige Prins bekend gemaakt! Het vindt plaats bij FAB28 op de Fabritiuslaan 28 in Eindhoven. Wij verwelkomen jullie graag vanaf 19.11 uur.

As previous years, on Carnaval monday (February 28th) we will travel to beautiful Limburg to celebrate Carnaval in Mestreech. Whether you're a true Limbo, a Brabander or have never even celebrated Carnaval at all, everyone can have a good time in Mestreech. We will go there by train and we will meet at the station at 12:11. So come see how we party in Maastricht together with the Prince and GELIMBO. Wear your craziest costume and make sure you're subscribed on the GEWIS website so that we can make a Whatsapp group and won't leave without you.
Friday night the Prince of GEWIS and GELIMBO have something special in store for you. This year there will be a carnavalscantus! At FAB28 (Fabritiuslaan 28) we will enjoy some beers while singing along very loudly to all the best cantus and carnaval songs. You are welcome from 19:45. From 20.00 on, we will have an amazing cantus right there, with loads of drinks, singing, laughing and here and there a little punishment. How little the punishment, depends on you! This year, GELIMBO returns with a very special edition of the annual GELIMBO Quiz. Year after year, you had the possibility to prove that you know the smartest people by joining them in a team and competing in the GELIMBO Pubquiz. However, this has always been a team effort, but now you will have the opportunity to show how knowledgeable you actually are. Can you outsmart all the other participants?
At the beginning of the show a brainteaser will decide who will be The One on the hot seat. In the spotlight, you will have to answer multiple choice questions! However, the other participants also want to be in the spotlight, so they will answer the questions via an online system before you do. As long as you keep answering the questions correctly, you will remain on the hot seat. As soon as you give an incorrect answer, another participant will take your place.
However, you want to be in the spotlight, because if you can answer the one million dollar question correctly while you are in the spotlight, you will win a prize! Carnaval has already been there for ages as well as the 'stropdaskroegentocht' (pubcrawl). That one may be cancelled, so we are organizing a take away StropTaskroegentocht! Subscribe for this activity as soon as possible, but at the latest Sunday the 6th of February, and order your bag for our great activity! During the online pubcrawl, we'll have an online platform where you can move and meet with a group from online pub to pub. You can at any moment move for a second to another group to talk with them and enjoy the activity with the people you would like to celebrate Carnaval with! In your bag will be some happy alcoholic or non-alcoholic surprises, depending on your preference. Each pub will have its own drink and it will be a surprise everywhere :D! During a week (or a long weekend) of celebrating carnival having a snack once in a while is almost obligatory. You can of course enjoy a ‘kapsalon’ or a ‘broodje bal’, but one of the most (in)famous snacks is a ‘worstenbroodje’ (not to be confused with a ‘frikandelbroodje’). Literally translated to ‘sausage bread’, it’s exactly what you expect and now you have the change to make these yourselves!
On Saturday the 13th of February, GELIMBO hosts an online baking workshop with expert cooks to guide you through the process. All you have to do are the groceries, for which we will provide a shopping list. There will also be a vega(n) alternative available. The activity starts at 14:11, so you’ll have plenty of time to recover from an optional hangover. We hope to see all of you on the 13th!

In times without lockdown and COVID, the 11th of February 2021 would have been the day where we kick off the carnival week with an amazing borrel. This year, there will be no carnival unfortunately. But do not worry, GELIMBO will not pass on the opportunity to celebrate something on the 11th of the month. We will not kick off the carnival week, but we will kick off our four days of fun activities. And what better way to do this than with an (online) borrel? To give you something more to do than just borrel from home, we will also include a BINGO (or actually we will be playing kien, like Limburgians do), where you can win fun prizes!
Once you subscribe for the activity, you will get an email with your kien-card and an optional shopping list with some things that our hosts will be consuming during the evening, so you can join them if you want! We also encourage you to make the experience more fun for yourself, for example by putting shots on a few numbers on your card ;) and by meeting with your friends in a seperate Discord call.
One last important thing:
Even though we do not celebrate carnival, we will not let 2021 go by without dressing up. So put on your craziest carnival outfit! You will actually get an extra kien-card if you do this! :)

Experience now a brand-new concept of online escape rooms: The Hunting Hour! Something very valuable is stolen from you. Together with your team you will try to catch the thief and retrieve what is yours. Evidence of the theft has been collected, divided and sent to the home address of each team member. During the evening of December 8, 9 or 10 your team will have an online crisis meeting where teamwork is more important than ever! Inspect the evidence, find clues and hunt the thief. You have one hour. Good luck. The Hunting Hour is a unique, creative and thrilling experience by GELIMBO and DSW. You will receive a package at your home address that you will need for solving different mysteries throughout the process of finding the thief that stole one of your most precious possessions. Each team must consist of 4 to 6 members. We encourage you to try filling your team to exactly 6 people for the ultimate experience. Each team must be enrolled once (so do not enroll per person). Upon closing of this subscription list, we will raffle among the enrolled teams. 20 teams can participate in this activity. When your team is selected to be one of the teams that can participate in The Hunting Hour, GELIMBO will reach out to the main responsible of the team (the person who enrolled the team) to ask the following from each team member: - A Dutch postal address (for sending the package of evidence) - A picture of the team member (passport photograph dimensions: ~148 pixels (width) x ~184 pixels (height)). The picture is optional, but highly recommended. There are three evenings (December 8, 9 and 10) when this activity takes place. Each team will obtain a slot on one of these dates. GELIMBO wordt elf plus twee, KAPOW! Dit jaar vindt de traditionele Dieszitting weer plaats op woensdag 4 december. Geniet mee van een avond vol muziek, dans, theater, drankjes en nog veel meer! Tijdens deze ontzettende kick-off van het GEWIS' carnavals seizoen zal ook de nieuwe prins carnaval worden onthuld na een epische musical. Vergeet niet om verkleed te komen! Dit jaar zal het evenement plaatsvinden in het Temporary Art Centre (TAC) op Vonderweg 1. De deuren zullen om 19:11 openen.
Schrijf je hieronder in om een ticket te dibsen. Tickets (€3,- in voorverkoop) die niet verkocht/opgehaald zijn vóór 22 november om 23:59 zullen nog worden verkocht aan iemand anders. Je kan je ticket claimen bij een willekeurig GELIMBO-lid. Mocht de dibslijst vol zitten binnen 3 uur, dan zal onder de ingeschrevenen geloot worden.

Na alle lustra van dit jaar is er nog een verjaardag om te vieren. Op 29 mei bestaat dispuut GELIMBO 12,5 jaar.
En wat is nou een betere manier om dit met jullie te vieren dan met cadeautjes en vlaai?
Op 11 juni organiseert GELIMBO vanaf 10:00 's ochtends een activiteit waarbij jij met een groep vrienden samen een vlaai kunt versieren! Er zijn vijftien vlaaibodems beschikbaar dus wees er op tijd bij :D Na afloop mag je namelijk niet alleen deze vlaai zelf opeten, maar mag je ook nog een cadeautje grabbelen uit de grabbelton. Wat een feest!
Denk jij alles te weten, ben je een kei in muziek, of hou je gewoon van een gezellige avond? Bewijs jezelf dan in een team van 4 tot 6 personen bij de GELIMBO-quiz op 14 mei 2019! De vragen kunnen werkelijk over alles gaan. Er zijn hippe prijzen te winnen en het belooft weer fantastisch en tevens legendarisch te worden. Dit jaar zal de quiz weer plaatsvinden in Hubble, de studentenbar in Luna. Voor aanvang van de quiz kan hier ook gegeten worden. Hubble biedt namelijk verscheidene maaltijden aan van rond de 6 euro. Er komt een aparte inschrijflijst voor het eten. Daar kan je kiezen welk menu je bij Hubble wilt bestellen.
Natuurlijk wil je niet een quiz maken zonder het nodige BrainFood van tevoren. Zoals al eerder vermeld is het dit jaar mogelijk om van tevoren te eten in het goednieuwe Café Hubble (Luna), waar later op de avond de quiz zal plaatsvinden. Hubble biedt het volgende menu aan: --- Daily Dinner Dishes (DDD) (€5,50) --- Optie 1: Kip Bonne femme (kippepoot met aardappel, boontjes, paprika, champignon en zilverui. Optie 2: Vegetarische Wortelcurry met koriander en kokos. Optie 3: Visstoofpotje Normandie met 3 soorten vis en rijst. --- Legendary Fries Indonesian Style (€5,95) --- Franse frietjes met salade, kip saté en saté saus. Voor vegetariërs is het ook mogelijk de kip saté te vervangen door verschillende soorten groente. Na het opgeven op deze inschrijflijst dien je het eten nog wel zelf te bestellen bij Hubble; deze lijst is een indicatie voor hen hoeveel ze moeten inkopen voor ons, wat het mogelijk maakt om de prijzen laag te houden.
Maandag neemt prins Romy I je mee naar het zuiden om te laten zien hoe carnaval gevierd wordt in Mestreech (Maastricht). We verzamelen op station Eindhoven om 12:11 om vanaf daar met z'n allen de trein te nemen naar het zuiden! Schrijf je in, zodat we je niet vergeten! Alaaf!
