Intern: Phantom-based verification and validation for Image Guided Therapy
Propose optimized methodologies for using appropriate phantoms instead of clinical data for verification and validation.
Image guided therapy (IGT) systems are used to treat patients in diverse clinical procedures (coronary, vascular, neurology, oncology, cardiac, lung). Philips IGT offers a variety of software applications to support physicians in getting the best outcomes for our patients. These software applications need to fulfill requirements that are often verified and validated using phantom and clinical data. Currently, there is a huge dependency on clinical data for verification and validation purposes of the medical devices.
You will play a role in identifying applicable phantoms suitable for clinical procedures; creating methodologies optimizing the usage of different phantoms for both verification and validation processes; as well as ensuring developed approaches meet clinicians needs and regulatory requirements and thereby are safe and effective.
You will be part of the Verification & Validation team of the Image Guided Therapy (IGT) clinical application team. You will interact with a cross functional project team, consisting of among others clinical marketing, system design, software development.
This internship will give you the opportunity to learn about the Philips Image Guided Therapy organization and its different roles.
