Thales is one of the technologically leading companies in the area of (naval) radar systems. Modern radar systems must be able to detect a variety of objects in different circumstances. This development leads to complex technological and mathematical challenges. An example is the design of transmit and receive beams for the radar antenna array, which is called beam forming. In this talk we will explore the basic mathematical principles behind beam forming including its relation to the Fourier transform.

Note that for this lunch lecture that are only 30 spots available. We kindly ask you to be subscribed Thursday before the lecture. If there are more than 30 people interested, there will be a draw. You will be informed about your participation, the lecture and all corona measures Friday before the lecture takes place.
