Are your plants always dying? Have you always wanted to make a super smart check-in system? This is your chance! On 17th of May 13:30-17:30, the training workgroup ft. the FYC’s organize a FREE workshop “Arduino: how to make your life easierâ€. There are only 30 spots available, so be sure to register quickly! The subscription list opens on Monday 1st of May at 12:00 on the GEWIS website. During the workshop an experienced trainer will tell you all about Arduino, NodeMCU and other cool microcontrollers. Afterwards you may take your incredible inventions home.
We have two possible projects you can hack away on: The first one is a device to (automatically) water your plants and the second one is a more creative exercise which involves creating a check-in system using RFID. We've got 15 of both, and it is first come, first serve.
If you are inexperienced, the plant watering device is better suited. Do you already have a bit of experience with Arduino? Then you can start hacking away on the RFID project!
We will supply you with all electrical components necessary, the only thing you have to bring yourself is a laptop.
See you on the 17th,
