This lecture will start with an overview of the products of ASML. ASML is the world's leading provider of lithography systems for the semiconductor industry, manufacturing complex machines that are critical to the production of integrated circuits or microships. Headquartered in Veldhoven, the Netherlands, ASML designs, develops, integrates, markets and services these advanced systems, which continue to help our customers - the major chipmakers - reduce the size and increase the functionality of microchips, and consumer electronic equipment.
Second part of the lecture will focus on the software challenge. Software is a crucial part in the product, giving the machine it's full funtionality, and at the same time, compensating for hardware imperfections. In fact, the software engineers enable to squeeze the last nanometers out of the machine.
The last part of the lecture will explain the software development organization at ASML and the career opportunities.
