Find any activity across every association year.
You might already know that shortly after the summer break, the AMSL Marathon Eindhoven is taking place. It's held on October 9 and as a committee very interested in running, we would like to encourage you to join!
Of course, we're not asking you to run the full marathon, if that's a bit too much for you. The whole marathon 'event' is comprised of different categories:
There are some other special categories. If you're interested, you can find those on the official website.
If you are running in one of these categories and are also interested in having training sessions organized by us, please let us know here (note that you will have to subscribe yourself). If there is enough demand, we might just get working on that!
Additionally, if you do not want to have training sessions with us, you can still let us know you are running in the event here, since we would also like to organize some activity around the marathon (like a group lunch or borrel).
The Batavierenrace: running, camping and partying! This year, GEWIS will once again join the race from Nijmegen to Enschede. The Batavierenrace will take place from the 29th of April till the 1st of May 2022. If you are available that weekend, and you would like to join, subscribe as soon as possible! We only have 25 spots!
What is the Batavierenrace? At Friday in the evening you go to Enschede, where you can set up your tent already. Every participant will be divided into the night, morning or afternoon team. The first stage (of the night team) starts Friday night in the centre of Nijmegen and the race finishes Saturday in the afternoon at the Kennispark in Enschede, where also the camping can be found. After the race, a party will take place Saturday evening, the biggest student party of Europe! At Sunday, we will return to Eindhoven. More information about the Batavierenrace will follow after subscription or look at the website https://www.batavierenrace.nl.
At the moment we are organizing the whole event, because the organizational committee in Enschede is doing so. If the circumstances change, we will keep the participants updated.
The subscription list will be open up and until the 17th of February 2022 23.59h. If the subscription list is full, there will be a draw between the people who subscribed. If the subscription list is not full, we will use first come first serve. It may happen that a participant cannot join eventually, so bes ure to subscribe even if it would bef or the waiting list!
See you there!
With sportive regards,
BATA
Dear Batavieren,
It is that time of the year again. The Batavierenrace will take place on the 23rd and 24th of April! Just like last year, in different circumstances. Let’s make the best out of it together!
We have to run 250 kilometres together. This means that we will gather screenshots from a running app where your name, your distance, your time and the lap can be seen. So if you would like to participate, run a distance of at least 5 kilometres and make a screenshot of your lap. Send your screenshot to the email address bata@gewis.nl and participate in the online Batavierenrace 2021!
For the photoalbum, it would be nice if we can keep up with each other via selfies in the WhatsApp group. Then we have something to remember and to cherish. We will close off the weekend with a social drink. Everyone can participate, there is no maximum of subscriptions, so subscribe such that we know that we have enough participants.
Please keep in mind the measures which apply at the time of the 23rd and 24th of April.
We hope to see you!
With sportive regards,
The Bata committee
Dear Batavieren,
This year, GEWIS will once again join the Batavierenrace. This year this relay run from Nijmegen to Enschede will be held in the weekend of 1,2 and 3 May 2020. If you would like to join us, subscribe as soon as possible because we only have 25 spots.
What is the Batavierenrace? On Friday in the evening, we will go to Enschede, where you can already set up your tent and you can drink a beers. Every participant will be divided into the night-, morning or afternoon team. The first stage of the night team will start at 23:00 in the centre of Nijmegen and the relay run ends Saturday afternoon around 17:00 at the campus of the University of Twente in Enschede. Dear Batavieren,
As you may have noticed, the regular edition of the Batavierenrace does not take place due to the COVID-19 virus. Nevertheless there is an alternative: the first online Batavierenrace! Of course we want to participate in this with a team of GEWIS members. It goes as follows: we have to run 125km together, so the organizing party expects 25 screenshots of the runned distance and the time that together add up to 125km.
So our plan is as follows: everyone runs from their quarantaine spot around 5 kilometers. Register your run via for instance Strava, or your most prefered app and take a screenshot containing the route, the distance, the time and your name. Please notice that your run has to be done between Friday 1 May 00:48 and Saterday 2 May 23:59, otherwise your run won't count. Send your screenshot to bata@gewis.nl and join in the online Batavierenrace!
As we can not cheer each other and as there is nobody to take pictures during your run, we ask you to take selfies to get a feeling of the ambiance we normally have during the Batavierenrace. Saturday evening we will have an online drink (bring your own Schulties) to finish it together. Everyone can join, so subscribe such that we know that we have enough participants.
For everyones safety it is important to keep 1,5 meters distance of others during your run and to walk alone. In this way we can still have a nice edition of the Batavierenrace.
Sportive regards,
The Bata committee
