The Parent Days Commission (ODC) is the one and only committee ran by first year students! Every year, a group of freshmen (accompanied by other, actually capable GEWIS members) organize days during which everyone's parents are invited to tour the campus. They will get lectures in those awful beloved Auditorium seats that make you stiff as a board, and experience the campus firsthand. They will get to see all the picturesque buildings their children never step foot in attend classes in every day. Finally, they will also be subjected to exercises far too difficult for anyone to complete, so in other words, a holistic experience putting them in the shoes of a first year student. Of course, that is exactly what we want - to give the parents a glimpse into the life of their son or daughter as a new student at the TU/e.
PS
The ODC cannot assure you that you, as a visitor or organizer, won't be diminished or humiliated by parents. You shall have to deal with this yourself. You will survive... most likely... hopefully.
PPS
This is something the Board never says, but if you don't look out, you might be told to guide incapable sjaarzen for the next couple of years, that will be your runner up in this committee. It will be very fun... right?
