How math is used to meet customers agreements while reducing the total cost

ASML lithography systems are used to produce microchips with nanometer accuracy. Due to a rapidly growing demand for chips, it is of high importance to keep these machine up and running as much as possible. A key aspect of this is that needed service actions can be executed when needed. For this, the correct service parts need to be available.

During this lunch lecture it will be explained how mathematics is used to do a proper trade-off between meeting customers agreements and improving the machines up time while reducing the total cost for having spares on stock.
