Lockdown Lecture Picnic

Tuesday Picnic joins us for a joint Lecture from their CTO Daniel Gebler and Joris van Tatenhove. This lecture will look at how online supermarket Picnic upscaled both their online traffic and their offline distribution. This session will approach Picnic both from the Mathematical and the Computer Science side!

The first part will be about business as unusual – How to thrive in the new normal by Daniel Gebler, CTO Picnic. Picnic is the world’s fastest growing online supermarket that makes grocery shopping simple, fun, and affordable for everyone. But what happens if a significant exogenous shock leads to 10x demand and 0.1x supply? How to use this as an opportunity to make cities smarter, safer, and cleaner?

The second part will be about Distribution at Picnic by Joris van Tatenhove Logistics is all about solving hard CS problems. And this became even more fun with the new normal ;) How to solve a problem where heuristics depend on data which is no longer predictive?
Join our session and get inspired by how we made multi-factor optimisation fun.
