Purple Friday

Tl;dr: wear purple to show your supporting LGBTQ+ and come to GEWIS in the break for free cup cakes!

Purple friday is the Dutch variant of the American holiday Spirit day organized by the GSA, the Gay Straight Alliance. On this day people celebrate love in all its forms and wear purple to show they believe everyone in world should be able to be themselves and love who they want. The GSA is a national organization that supports LGBTQ+ students and gives lectures about sexuality and identity at high schools all over the country.

To celebrate this holiday we'll decorate the GEWIS room purple and hand out free cup cakes. So come wearing purple, eat a cup cake and have a chat with us.

This activity is supported by Compass, the LGBTQ+ community of the TU/e and Fontys. We organize drinks and fun activities as well as discussions nights and we provide support for students who struggle with their identity. Like our Facebook page if you want to keep up to date with everything we do. We also have a Facebook group, Whatsapp group and a Instagram.

Hope to see you on the 14th, wearing purple of course.
