At Prodrive we aim to optimize not only our product design but also our manufacturing processes. One such aspect is in planning, ranging from product planning to labor capacity planning, known as shift planning. For that, we are developing solutions for algorithmic shift planning of our employees, known in the academic field of mathematical optimization as the "Nurse Scheduling Problem". The goal is to develop a scheduling algorithm/system that takes into accounts all kinds of data (skills, contract hours, preferences, labor requirements) from multiple sources and provides complex scheduling functionality that balances employee preferences with production efficiency.
