Lunch lecture Pipple
About this activity
A large international furniture retailer operates retail planning at a global scale, spanning sales forecasting, fulfilment decisions, and capacity planning across dozens of countries. While each of these domains can be complex on its own, the real challenge lies in aligning them into a coherent and reliable planning process that can adapt to volatile business conditions.
In this lunch lecture, we will take you behind the scenes of how large-scale retail planning works in practice and where it breaks down. We will discuss the key data and engineering challenges that arise when scaling planning systems, such as fragmented tools, disconnected forecasts, and the tension between experimentation and reliability.
