Euclidean Geometry Mathematics Puzzle Night

About this activity

Travel back to Ancient Greece with the GEBEP: Euclidean Geometry Mathematics Competition! On the evening of June 7, we are challenging you with some classical geometry problems that must be solved by mere means of a ruler and compass. These puzzles shall, of course, be accompanied by a bottle of Greek wine (or soft drinks) and some traditional Greek food, so that you may be wholly transported to the Mediterranean backdrop against which Euclid wrote his famous 'Elements'.

The competition will take on campus from 17:00-20:00. You can participate in teams of 2 and the problems will vary from easy to difficult so that anyone has a good introduction and more importantly: a fun time!

Everyone who participates pays a participation fee of €1. With this, you get soft drinks and greek food. However, to make the experience complete, you can order some bottles of wine as well! You get the first bottle of wine for €3 and a second bottle for €5. If you're confused, here are the total prices:

  • No wine: €1
  • 1 bottle of wine: €4
  • 2 bottles of wine: €9

Please contact GEBEP (gebep [at] gewis.nl) or the board (cib [at] gewis.nl) with any questions or concerns. Have fun!
